Project Description:

Our Designers collaborated with the Allsteel product development team to create a multi-functional office furniture line consisting of chairs, tables and presentation boards.

The project began with the design team visiting office spaces to interview personnel, maintenance employees and facility planners. From the product research, the team concluded that most offices have multi-functional spaces that change many times a day. There is, however, a lack of flexibility inherent in most office furniture systems.

This chair was designed with the unique capability to stack or nest when not in use. Additionally it was equipped with an innovative flex mechanism that involved flexing a solid steel rod when force is applied to the seat back. The rod then provides give and resistance.
